Have you mobilised your website?
Last month saw the launch of Googles new ‘mobile friendly’ algorithm, which puts mobile friendly websites first in the search engine’s rankings.
Google estimate that over half the users that search via their site are doing so from a mobile or tablet device. This change in the algorithm is hoped to ensure that users are able to view suitable search information no matter what device they are using.
In a recent blog, Google said that the changes will mean “searchers can more easily find high-quality and relevant results where text is readable without tapping or zooming, tap targets are spaced appropriately, and the page avoids unplayable content or horizontal scrolling.”
Google also highlighted that this change will only affect those searches carried out on mobile devices and will not change the algorithm of those searches performed on a pc or laptop.
